Reverse Advent Calendar Food Drive
St. Paul is once again working with AMEN food pantry during the month of December to help stock the shelves of the pantry. A recent local news article stated that 330 families were served which represented 994 individuals served. A total of 2,276 pounds of food were donated in that same time period.
The list has been updated by AMEN staff as to what is most critically needed this year. Staff asks these things 1) that no food in glass jars be donated and (2) all canned fruits and vegetables be purchased in 15 oz cans (unless otherwise specified).
Office Manager Ruth Poncik and Pastor Mike went to a local grocery store to purchase the items listed, following the list exactly. A total of $34.77 was spent and 26 lbs were weighed to AMEN.
If you choose to participate in the “Reverse Advent Calendar” you may drop off the items at St. Paul in the grocery cart in the church lobby or the green baskets on the Walnut Street covered entrance or the porch of the church office on Jefferson Street. Items will be delivered weekly to AMEN. Ruth will keep a total for the month of December.
If you cannot shop but wish to participate, monetary donations are always welcome to allow purchase of food from the regional distribution center. Please note on the check for the AMEN food pantry.
